Attention all 2-way VHF and UHF radio users

Effective January 1, 2013; the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is mandating all public safety and industrial/business licenses convert existing 25kHz radio systems to minimum narrowband 12.5 kHz. The purpose of the narrowband mandate is to promote more efficient use of the VHF and UHF land mobile frequency bands.

Who is affected?
-All land mobile Part 90, 25kHz efficiency systems operating on VHF (150-174MHz) and UHF (421-512MHz) frequency bands.

What does this mean to me?
IF you are operating 2-way radio’s which require an FCC license you will be required to have your current radio’s which are capable of narrow banding to be reprogrammed to meet the mandate.

What do I need to do?
Take an inventory by manufacturer and model number of all of your current 2-way radio’s. Once you have established the list; contact us for guidance on appropriate action to see of your current radios which are narrow band capable to meet the forth coming mandate. We will help you also if necessary with modifying, changing, or applying for a new FCC license. If you are in need of new radio’s; we can provide the right equipment which will be tailored to your needs and budget.
